Decide DeKalb Development Authority,
Looking to underscore their mission of promoting economic growth in DeKalb County, the Decide DeKalb Development Authority sought a large wall mural for the reception area of their new office in Decatur, Georgia.
Measuring 10 feet by 23 feet, the mural’s size was substantial, but the project’s timeline was anything but. Brainstormed by administrators at a late hour and intended to be a focal point at the new facility’s grand opening, only one week was allowed for the mural’s design, fabrication and installation!
Given these ambitions, Decide DeKalb reached out to a graphics, signage and display resource that had developed an excellent reputation for design and quality throughout the region: Image360 – Tucker, Georgia. Excited at the challenge, they leapt into action.
Collecting photos of engaged people and distinctive landmarks in DeKalb County, the sign maker printed them on 3M™ Scotchcal™ Graphic Film and laminated them for protection. To give dimension to several of the images, Image360 – Tucker applied second-surface vinyl to acrylic and mounted them on top of the mural with silver standoffs.
With the design, fabrication and installation of the new mural nearing completion, just one finishing touch was required. For it, Image360 – Tucker created letters for the county’s “Invest|Connect|Thrive” theme and “DeKalb County Georgia” identification in one-half inch, dimensional PVC letters.
Unveiled at the new office’s grand opening, the floor-to-ceiling photo mural gained praise from facility visitors and Decide DeKalb administrators alike—further establishing the signage and graphics provider’s reputation for design expertise and quality installations in the area.
